I think it's more these emission trucks that have them. My '07 Star was without one, but all the post-2010 trucks have it.

Likely. From my previous post, after installing a new fuel sensor, I will admit that I really wanted to test how far I could go once the idiot light came on. The answer is 100 miles on flat land with a LIGHT load. Good to know.x1Heavy Thanks this.
