It depends if it is a single or dual drives.

But yes!chopper103in Thanks this. -
Yes. 4 in the rear. 2 in front

Brake chambers, a tandem tractor will have six, two for each axle. The steering axle almost always is simple, without the spring brake, the drive axles will have at least one axle with compound, air and spring,
The tractor I have now has compound on both axles of the drive tandem. -
No, your mixing 2 different answers.
There are 6 "S" cams on a tractor unless you have disc or wedge brakes. There are also 6 brake cans of mostly 2 different types even if you have disc or wedge brakes.
Got it?25(2)+2 Thanks this. -
Cans and chambers are the same thing, but I also call containers 'cans'.chalupa Thanks this.

U can say that but I don't know how that would fly at the parts house......you might get a strange look.....

wedge brakes...surely they dont make them anymore..they worked great when they worked..

I saw a disc brake setup on a new Utility reefer, no s-cams with those, either.

S-Cams and brake chambers are two different parts. S-cams are only used on modern drum brakes.
