Well for the 2 guys on here that keep arguing everything I'm saying, I understand where you're coming from, and if you'll refer back to one of my earlier posts I clearly stated that I check my surroundings and make sure I'm not running out there in front of another truck, but in case you did not see that here it goes again, I CHECK MY SURROUNDINGS TO MAKE SURE I"M NOT GETTING IN FRONT OF ANOTHER TRUCK BEFORE ENTERING THE LEFT LANE, there is a time when guys like me need to make a pass too, and believe me I'm not the guy that's going to jump out there in front of you and hold you up, you're failing to see what I'm saying while I'm sitting here completely understanding where you're coming from, so quit jumping my case and read my post fully and you'll see that I'm posting from the courteous standpoint of the driver who's governed ridiculously slow and does everyting in my power not to hold up the flow of traffic.:biggrin_25510:

Hey Groundpounder, and BlackW900 can I ask you what kind of mpg are you averaging. I drive a 2010 Mack Pinnacle with the new regen system on it, governed at 65 and I'm #### lucky to get 5.8, I have not seen 6.0 since the day I got the truck which was right around the first of the year, I just turned 40,000 miles and it's getting a little better, but not great. Question being, how fast do you guys run on average, and what kind of mpg are you getting, maybe I can send the info over to the terminal and get this chihuaha of mine turned up, cause it sure as hell ain't no bulldog puked out the way it is right now.

W900 running whatever the speed limit is wherever I am 525 N14 Cummins and I run at or near gross all the time.
My average fuel mileage last month was 6.1 MPG, The highest I got was 7.5 and the lowest I got was 4.5 but the average was pretty decent...It usually runs right about the same from month to month.

I only idle when it's absolutly necessary for comfort and that aint too often.

Running heavy and fast with a choked down Accert I'm in the 5 mpg range...In the 65mph states I'm usually around 70-72 mph, out west I'll bump it up to the speed limit or a little more if I'm in a mood....and yes I know thats terrible....

Winter time here in upstate NY the idle time is high and summer time in Texas its high for comfort......spring and fall try not to idle at all if it can be helped..

Were a company of quite a few ex-o/o's leased to Landstar and the big boss man has never said word one about mileage or idle time, most of us as stated have had to pay a fuel bill at one time or another so we try to do our part but sometimes you just have to go and fuel is gonna get burned !!

I don't claim to know everything but I do know my job and my truck. Even though I run empty half of the time I still run 10-15k lbs more than interstate trucks. Most interstate truck run 3:55 gears, I run 4:33 gears and still get 6mpg. So I still don't understand the fuel issues.

I can't help what the company does, you know.

Not offended at all. I don't laugh when I'm offended. I find it funny the lengths people go to trash others. What will getting offended do? It won't make my truck go faster.

What do you mean "you guys?" Not all of us do it. I don't. Knowing how people detest me (only because of the truck I drive) already, I try to make myself out to be one of the Swift drivers that can be respected out there. And it's worked as I've had nothing but good times over the air with other truckers that knew i was in that truck.

I'm with you, man. I do everything I can to make my moves when the highway is good and clear of other trucks. The ONLY time I move out in front of another truck is when he gives me the ok. I also ALWAYS apologize to that trucker, or any other that gets behind me in this situation, to let them know that I didn't mean to hold them up. And I ALWAYS get a favorable response.

To me, it's all about respect out there. I give it and it returns to me in the same form that I gave it. That's all, man.
