Im out here to work n make money. Dont need all that stuff u mentioned and dont want it. Give me truck that runs good and stays out the shop , cold ac and hot heat and a stick shift . I will figure everything else out. Life is much better when u aint following ur next fix on social media and the tv channels. I do wish i had a small shower just to rinse off after tarping in summer or getting dirty etc. Because the truck stop showers can be expensive if u have no points and when ur running hard its not always possible to get to a truck stop

There was a time when that was true, but today, with 4 digit rentals, many are doing both, work and live, and today's trucks, that can be easily done. The biggest snafu I'd have, is a restroom/shower. Aside from a truckstop or rest area, there are no restrooms, and the ones that are around are disgusting. Joe Snowflake cashier isn't going to clean the restrooms. Years ago, I knew a gal had her truck on with Marten, she had a tiled floor and toilet and small shower. All that adds 1,000 pounds, if that's an issue, but the only way I'd do it, oh, and a cab controlled holding tank release, for those pesky tailgaters:eek:

"If you are living cramped like a prisoner in a jail cell you might thank the lack of unions for OTR drivers."

LOL, now THAT'S funny. Union greed and corruption has destroyed a number of formerly great US industries like the auto makers and steel production. Why do you think so much of that work is done overseas now? Because all of those wonderful benefits from the unions priced us right out of the market. We non-union drivers are already competing with foreign drivers on US highways who are willing to work for a fraction of what we'll work for. Exactly what do you think would happen if American drivers all unionized and increased their rates? Do you think American shippers and consumers would just accept the huge increase in the prices of their goods? Wake up! You're living in a fantasy world.

    1 Make unreasonable demands
2 Use govt to enforce unreasonable demands on everybody.
    3 Outlaw alternatives
    4 Increase surveillance

You have all of those things at your office desk?

D.Tibbitt, starmac and WesternPlains Thank this.
