Is there a specific place for me to check what dedicated runs are in certain places? Or do I just start bugging the DL's?
Right now I am based out of Fontana, I would love to get something that runs at least regional where I can see my kids more often, I do love OTR and will do it for now but just thinking about my family. My oldest daughter is already claiming im never around anymore.
How much are you earning per year/month with SWIFT?

Talk to your DL or fleet manager. How far do you live from Fontana? Look into daycab or shuttle runs if you live close enough.
My home is 98 miles from Lancaster, but I moved my camper to the Dallas area so I could do shuttle. The steady pay and miles easily covered payments for the camper spot. I get almost 3000 miles a week and go home every weekend unless the wife decides to come over here. -
I live about 130 miles from Fontana, takes a little over 2 hours for the route to get each way. I dont have a camper or anything so I would need to commute since I dont think apartments are very cheap in that area of CA...
I would love something where I run to Or, WA, NV etc and home every few days then I would still have a sleeper. Or if I even found runs from CA to Phoenix and back, I just have to wait and see options later and what I can get myself into, right now I just need to work so will take anything. -
I think that there is shuttle runs between PHX and CA, but getting on it, probably next to impossible. Did you check out 11 state regional

No I haven't checked into things yet, tomorrow morning I pick up my truck in Mira Loma and then head over to Fontana to meet up with my DL so I will ask him about local/regional stuff and see if I even have a chance at any of it anytime soon, someone was telling me its hard to get onto dedicated runs since people are waiting in line, not sure how much of that is true until i talk to the DL.
Even if he was to tell me to go do otr for a couple months and he can get me something later then even that would make me happy, if it was possible to take my family on the road I would stay otr forever. -
i was told by dl i have to wait 6 months before i can get on a dedicated or local. dl is matt out of fontana

DL are morons and most never even been in a truck find u a DC we run out of and ask while your there if they need any surge drivers or openings on fleet
Mine cant even answer half the stuff I ask like I asked how over speed works he said if u hit 67mph thats over speed that isnt turn or I would have been fired within my first few months I did it so much
And he checked not 1 overspeed
I was told a month but I did otr a yr and now just Walmart -

I asked about dedicated, local and all that stuff and he said its normally 6 months but to check with DM's and see what they have going, I just dont know who runs what and who to approach.
I will ask again about the 11 state regional -
Just finished my first year in May, made $33,600. Didn't run too hard, took most of the days off that I had coming to me. Hope to get closer to $40k this year.
