Anthonyar4: that’s a factory 3406B 400 hp turbo from 1987.
Turbo pipe is same as every other truck on the road. Likely the camera making it appear larger.
I painted the turbo with high heat silver and black to help break up all the yellow and give it a touch of individuality.
Don’t let the 400 hp rating fool you. This truck pulls harder than the 475 hp E model I’m driving.
The 1992 Pete we have also has a 3406B but with a larger factory turbo. It’s a 425 hp. That one will eat 500 hp Detroit’s and Paccars for lunch easily with 50 ton on the B-trains.
Once the BXS C15 ACERT is finish being rebuilt, I’ll be painting that engine as well.
We will then see how the twin turbos look cleaned up, painted, all the covers painted, etc. Hopefully it’ll look beautiful.anthonyar4 Thanks this. -
I had a c15 overhauled in 2009 cost me $14.000.That yellow paint is where all the money went...A FACT.

Looks like I missed the tag lol.
This was 1 can of self-etching primer and 2 cans of CAT white:

I bought it from a local auto parts store. The block was hot tanked so I had to start from scratch. Might have been a can and a half of primer. Can't remember it was back in October.
