hello, I am not sure my how much cellphone data I would need while I am over the road. How much data do you use while over the road? My current data plan is 16 gigs of data with Verizon. I was reading up that Verizon is the best cellphone provider to get while on the road. The reason why I ask is because Verizon is going to have unlimited data plan back again and might get it if I need more data.

    Bakari742 Thanks this.

If unlimited is an option I'd grab that. I mostly browse the internet to stretch my data but I could blow through 16 gigs in a week.

    Bakari742 and Longarm Thank this.

That is a lot of data to use in a week.

It depends on YOUR usage. I am a huge fan of podcasts. I seldom listen to live radio but I listen to podcasts 8-10 hours per day every day. I am lucky I can download all of the podcasts I listen to at home and load them onto my Sansa MP3 player so none of them count against my data limit. If I wanted I can stream Pandora music while I work and would likely stay under my monthly 4GB limit. I use TuneIn Radio app to listen to college football and pro football. Using your cellphone as a GPS will consume lots of data since it will be downloading maps. I can listen to what I want to hear like it's free and not reach my data limit. If you are watching HD video you can use up almost any data plan that isn't unlimited.

I keep an eye on it and only use it when needed as a hot spot for my laptop. I have T-mobile so I have the binge on to watch you-tube, etc... without using my data. But I end up using approx. 6-7GB a month on average.

I use my GPS to help my trip plan, but not to navigate with. The phone GPS doesn't take a lot of truck attributes into account that would make it a good thing to do normally. I don't us the QC Navigo system as it's no good to me. but again... it's another tool to use. so I use multiple things and read signs to get me where I need to go.

I could stretch 5GB's an entire month.... as long as I didn't watch much porn.

Sprint unlimited data. I go through 20 plus gigs a month. Sprint roams on Verizon towers if you get out of sprint service. Sprint is way cheaper. I have 4 phones all unlimited with wifi hotspot. $180 per month. Just saying it's an option
