My first full year (2013) was about 44k. Then in 2014 I made 55k and quit in November so that was for about 10 1/2 month. That was after the big flatbed pay raise. It's not much but it will pay the bills and open the doors to better trucking jobs.
How much did you make your first year with swift ?

I see the good and the bad with Swift but I'm a rookie with a cdl trying to get started and have a offer in the reefer division....just wanted to know if it's more or less profitable then dry van or the same and how is home time out of georgia
-
Out of curiosity, did you quit for another trucking company, or just quit trucking all together ?
-
I was in a dedicated reefer (slip seat) division pulling for Walmart out of NM, home time was after every 70hrs!

Either way, that guys got a hair up his butt about 28 cpm lol -
My gamer tag was cnswift so they were my first choice. The recruiter told me .28 if i go through their training. Its the reason i didnt go with them. They start at .36 if you have at least 6 mo. experience. That may be where the confusion is coming from...

If you look at the thread here as far as pay, you will see that .28/mi is wrong. That starting pay was almost 2 years ago. Since then there has been 2 raises. A driver could come out of school and get lucky right after training and get on a dedicated run that pays more, and they will receive what the dedicated run pays.
