Say i buy my truck get insurance all the needee paperwork and possibly a trailer and get my own authority driving otr say average 3000 miles a week how much would be considered average? Or would it be better to finance a truck and lease on with a company like landstar again how much would i be looking at?

A lot of factors. Repeat that about ten times and there's your answer.

Some take home nothing, some clear 3k, 4K, 5k ...

It's just many factors. But one thing for sure, more miles doesn't necessarily mean more $

If you break minimum wage your doing good. Go onto YouTube and watch o/o videos they put up and ask yourself if these people look like successful people? Driving a truck is a job not a business.

    I'll put it this way..
Technically I'm LP O/O with a Mega-Carrier I also "Train Students". In December I was Neting about 1500-2000 a week after expenses and tax money set aside. The whole MONTH of Janurary I saw a TOTAL NET of 300 with no student on truck. I was unlucky in the sense of I made a bad freight decision and got caught in all the crummy WX hitting the NorthWest. To top it off I couldn't get freight with my "Mega-Carrier" to get the heck back out until last week. Luckily I hate spending money so I had my rainy day / oh #### money to hold me over. I didn't go negative thank god I was just making enough to keep the bills paid on the truck. It was a belt tightening month.
