Yeah, sorry for the confusion :). We only work when the construction crews work, basically, and they typically dont want to work in the rain. We do some work in the rain, but the work is given out on a seniority basis... so on rainy days we might only be 1/3rd staff, and so they only have the most senior guys come in on that day. Eventually it becomes a pretty sweet job once you get a few years worth of raises and you work your way up the seniority ladder to ensure your hours, but I've got hungry mouths to feed now.. not 5 years from now :/

MidWester is right beverages and there are career beer truck guys, but beer was also a different game 30 years ago that industry like all industries has changed and not really for the better. Beer you will work you won't ever be laid off nothing stupid like that people always will want to drink if the beverage distributor is worth it's salt they will constantly be looking for new products for you to deliver to customer the products could be both alcoholic or non-alcoholic really doesn't matter. Where I used to work when I drove a beer truck there policy was pretty much were in the beverage business not the beer business and if you can drink it and it doesn't need refrigeration we want to sell it. The only thing we didn't sell was Coke, Pepsi, 7UP and the products that those companies make obviously and obviously the stuff we couldn't get our hands on.

Anyhow beer 40-50K a year range.

I second that with selling whatever they can get there hands on. I'm kind of lucky and our non alcoholic drinks dont sell much. Haha

The company I worked for was a W-H-O-R finish the rest. They would sell hose water if they could. Actually they were trying to get there hands on any non-alcoholic stuff that they could because the profit margin on it was better.

We use to have a major energy drink that would suck because we would have to deliver to stops that we wouldn't ever go to because they didn't sell beer there. We lost the energy drink though. Can't say I miss it.

I made $74 K last year. Thats down from the good old days in the beverage industry and its prolly about all I'm gonna see the rest of the way. But I can't complain- I'm home by 1-2 pm every day and off weekends.

I agree with the guys that say it depends on your area. Even more so than Union or non Union shops
