I spend too much. I seriously need to focus more on this.
Need to be careful. At first I got ripped. A big dent in that is Loves. They give good points on fuel. Pick up good snacks for free. Cheese and sausage, fruit, veggies. But can do better. Loves gives an endless supply of free coffee. Have played with making my own. Having problems with a good pot or water heater that will last. Need to refocus on this. Better coffee. Should drink less.
My company wants me to buy fuel at Loves. Didn’t like them. But warming up with better freebies. Got a hint from a lease operator what my companies discount on fuel is. 41 cents a gallon.
Anyway....
I do eat at Chinese Buffets a lot. About $13 a day including tip at most. It’s good healthy food. I have to stay away from carbohydrates. I blew that at first. Clamped down and doing good.
I have and should focus more on my supplements. Been slacking. Shouldn’t. It will also give me nutrition so I eat much less. That program is $300 a month. Well worth it.
What can I say? Going through adjustment my first year.
At first getting ripped for $500 a week on credit card. Just going to cash brought that down to $200. While not cutting back on anything. Something was wrong.
I can do better. In summary being careless it’s a couple hundred a week.Jazz1 and Oldironfan Thank this. -
if not roller dogs are available, i may get a candy bar and a soda.
but back in my days, it was very common to spend about $150 per week for food. there were only "ice chests", or coolers back then, no refrigerators. i took along cans of food, that i could eat out of the can, as there wasn't any microwave oven back then either. other astaples like bread, bottled water, sodas as well, but had to drink the sodas warm..yuck....but that's the way it was.
when you fuel up, you get a free shower,. you can also gain bonus points at all the truck stops, using a rewards card, and those points add up.x1Heavy and Oldironfan Thank this. -
It costs a lot to eat out all the time.
And these “fridge people” eat the same exact sandwich meal after meal after meal.
So figure around 150 to 200 bucks a week for decent food.
.
Remember that even though your a truck driver you still deserve to eat good food. And not crap out of a microwave.
Plus who wants to do dishes?
Enjoy your time over the road, have a great time and see stuff and meet people.Jazz1, singlescrewshaker, JonJon78 and 5 others Thank this. -

$15-$20 a day, but I'm obese. I only eat once a day but when I do I make up for it! C'mun
Oldironfan Thanks this. -
The only thing I really buy is food, and that ranges somewhere in the ball park of $50-$75 per week, depending on where I'm running. It gets up to $75 or more on occasion if I'm running more northeast. As for personal items, soap, etc...that's never going to cost more than $15 bi weekly. I spend more money at home than when I'm on the road for some reason

So, I'm curious.....all these drivers (claiming to make) $60-80 grand a yr. and eating beans and baloney sandwiches on the road ?
