Is 36” the standard for vans?
Asking for a friend -
Can’t remember I’ll check. I remember it being a shorter than I thought because it’s an FLD with that long set back axle. Looks like a longer wheelbase that similar late model aero trucks with same wheelbase because the drives sat a little further back from the cab.
CAXPT Thanks this. -
Just about everything in my yard leaves the adjustment bolt and 3/4” of 5th wheel plate exposed when you arrive at the pin.

24inches is a usual short pin setting on 48ft vans and reefers
36inches is a normal pin setting for 53's
48inches is a sometimes option.gentleroger, CAXPT, F4T6UY and 2 others Thank this. -
Both my Hyundai vans are 36". My Reitnour CK90 is 24"cke, D.Tibbitt, CAXPT and 1 other person Thank this.

For what it's worth when I pulled refers a couple times. I had to have my wheel slid all the way back or the engine was hitting my headache rack
cke, gentleroger, Cat sdp and 3 others Thank this. -
Remember Tri-Lines Cabbage Patch Kids? No need to measure that sort of thing there. You could put 6’ of pipe over the front of the trailer and turn those with lots of room yet. Take some effort to get something tangled up in the headboard of one of those trucks.

Swing will depend on your trailer. Most van trailers I've seen are 36" pin, where is a lot of flats are a lot less. You would need to know what trailer your using first before accurately measuring.CAXPT, cke, D.Tibbitt and 1 other person Thank this.
