Yup I worked for a o/o with a freightliner Coe86" with a 212"wheelbase on TLX on the Canadian Prairie fleet back about '77 then a k100 with a 200wb doing the same for about 4 months.

N.I.C. used to have a whole yard full of Freightliners identical to that. That was their spec for about 20 yrs. Those trucks were about the same as the Cabbage Patches, lots of them around. Just about everyone in western Canada had one at one time or other. Mind you, by the time N.I.C we’re done with theirs they were pretty much destroyed.cke, CAXPT, D.Tibbitt and 1 other person Thank this. -
Yup.
Stringing pipe with a beatup old cabover and dragging it through a muskeg with a D8 has a way of sucking the life out of the truck. -
In their old yard on 34th St they had a few came out of Norman Wells gone from the frame rails down. Getting in there from Ft Norman in those days was bad enough let alone what they were doing to the trucks that were out there stringing.
