I thought you were going to be driving a cab in Vegas by now? :biggrin_2559:

Don't worry, your company will take care of their truck.

How much do you have in your bank account? What's your house worth? And your car? Do you have children? Do they have marketable skills? If so, they should bring in a pretty penny.

Oh, and an arm and a leg.

Should be enough to get one side done, at least.

Wait, I have no idea what a front end rebuild costs! Why am I even commenting? Run, I've lost my marbles!!

first determine what you need done. Hard to estimate when u say "front end". would check kingpins first. U can do this yourself. Get a bottle jack (at least 7 ton), and jack one of your steers about 2in off the ground. Get/borrow a load bar from a flat/step/rgn/lowboy guy, put it under your wheel and try to wedge it in some. If wheel moves, u need kingpins. Get on cb and ask for help in truckstop if u are unsure as to how to do it. kingpins will set ya back about $1000 depending on who does it. If that's not the problem, think tires, wheel bearings. tie rods ends... the list is endless, but you can figure it out as long as ur willing to get under there and look at a few things.

I would also check king pins first and then bushings. I would not replace anything that didn't need to be replaced. I would also check the drag link and then tie rods. You can do all of that yourself. If you want to have a mechanic check, it can be done in a very short time.

Actually, he did make it to Vegas, hit a jackpot and it gave him enough money for a 2006 Volvo, 27 really bad pulled pork sandwiches *burp* and one seriously discounted liaison with a has been hooker fresh off the strip.

He would wander with a good front end. I say let it be, and then you'll have an excuse for taking that wrong turn at Albuquerque. :biggrin_25522:

Don't forget your shocks. Contrary to popular belief, shocks are not designed the last a million miles. And yes, they will chew your tires up.

    OH GOOD GREIF!!!!

on a serious note tho, I had the front end rebuilt on my Star a few months ago.

Here is what I had replaced:
    Kindpins
    draglink
    berrings
    shoes
    drums
    tie-rods
    pitman arm

    all cost me $1,700
