when i ran the road, we only had 8 hours off. if i woke up earlier than that and i always did, i'd go in for my shower, eat, then walk around the truck stop a couple of times. not too many truck stops had gym facilities back then. sometimes too, i'd catch up on my logs, and other company paperwork. maybe get the truck washed. or just clean up the windows and the interior.
How much downtime do you get besides your 30 minute break

I don't want to bash you but there is a problem in thinking it is a mandated ten hours of sleeping.
I think you and others who think this need to learn the history of hos and why it is there. -
I drive 8 to 10 hours a day. I stop every 2 hours for 10 to 15 minutes. When im done i spend 1 to 2 hours watching dirty videos and comedy. Sleep for 8 to 9 which isnt enough at all.. then do it all over again every single day. Unless i get scrwwed by dispatch they like to take turns with their lovely drivers.. not much down time really.RedRover Thanks this.

I basically run on my own schedule. As long as the freight gets there safely and on time, you’re free to do whatever you want except get high or drunk. Use your imagination.

Call dispatch and ask. They’ll tell you what to do.
