Have to show all employment during last 3 years or last 10 years.

That's when you were running 65 but have slow down for a construction zone, then when you are out of the construction zone you can "resume" your 65 mph speed. At least that's the way I see it!

You need to account for all time in the last 3 years for a non cdl person and 10 for a licensed driver. Gaps between jobs are usually ok as long as you can document in some way what you were doing. Especially for a new driver, the whole check the last 3 year thing is a CYA thing for the companies.

I’ve been on the hiring end. If you’re a brand new driver what we want to see is how long you’ve stayed with a job. It wouldn’t matter what the job was if you’d stuck it out for many years- that’s like a big gold star.
We used to laugh when experienced drivers came in with their 10 year experience resume and it had a dozen different companies- that was a big red flag.
Also I was always interested in the responses to the “reason for leaving”..... if a prospective employee put reasons like “I hurt myself and am suing the company” then we would never hire that person.

I worked for a company that hired two drivers one time, a man and a woman, and for both, this was their 3rd company.
They both had sued their former 2 companies and settled for $25G each time.
The male trucker had sued for back injury.
The female had sued for racial discrimination.
Guess what? They both sued the company I worked for and for the same reasons. They both, again, won $25G settlement.

And people wonder why it can take days if not a week or more to get hired? If a carrier does not do a good background check they deserve to get tagged by these scam artists. This is insurance fraud!

Yep- it’s often a hard thing for companies to detect with new employees. Sometimes we’d get lucky though when they’d flap their gums!
