I'm a new operator and I don't wanna get ripped off. I have a 2012 Freightliner Cascadia with Cummins ISX and I'm burning coolant and vaper is coming through my vents, fogging up my windows, awful coolant/moldy smell. I did some research and it could be a bad heater core. How much should that cost me to fix? How many hours, parts, etc. Thank you in advance
How much for a new heater core?

Someone else doing it, skys the limit.
You do it yourself
Heavy Duty Truck & Off Road AC Parts from Trucker AC
Dont let the site design fool you, only place ive bought ac parts from in 5 years, good price, service, and selection, be about 5 days after you order for it to show up though.
THAT said, you may have difficulty getting to the heater core box depending on your vehicle's setup. If youre not mechanically inclined, go to an ac shop that does trucks, 3k might be cheap for the amount of hassle.
Could be as low as 150$feldsforever and 77fib77 Thank this. -
As low as $150 and as high as $3000?? That's a huge range range buddy but to back to your point I'm not very mechanically inclined so I'll have to take it to a shop tomorrowfeldsforever and 77fib77 Thank this. -
I did mine in a 2016 Cascadia. Was only $75 for the heater core.
Did myself in two hours.
Remove the covers under the glove box, remove the centre doghouse cover. Undo the hoses. Cut out the cover for the heater core and pull it out. New core comes with a new cover that screws down.86scotty, feldsforever, 77fib77 and 3 others Thank this. -
feldsforever, ibcalm19 and JohnSmith69 Thank this.
