How much free time do you have on the road?

    Lupe if you are dispatched for 70 hours a week you are going to drive 70 hours. If you are dispatched for 15 hours a week you will drive 15 hours.

    I really don't think you have a full grasp on how this works yet.. You will have good weeks you will have bad weeks.. What the driver is trying to tell you don't let your expectations get to high.. Don't spend all your good week money and not have money around for those bad weeks. Trucking is not a guaranteed salary. If that is what you want go to college..

    Depending on if they have freight,you may not have all that much free time.When they don't have freight,many times, you'll wait it out near where you just delivered your last load.Sometimes that's a good thing,other times it really sucks..

    Also, a lot of the cool tourist asttractions aren't very truck freindly,as a matter of fact, don't even bother.You won't be able to even get a truck near most of them.
