It’s ridiculous, I’ll admit, but I’ve managed it. You have to take into consideration that my expenses at home are well under control, so that helps a lot.

On the flip side, a buddy of mine is a 20yr Owner/Operator and probably pays under 10K a year.

I don't have a MC, but I was quoted $30-40k/year in FL by Progressive about 6 months ago when I was shopping to see what it would cost me..

The kicker is I was specifically asking on coverage for a Sprinter van to do expediting...

I’m paying 1500/month with a new truck and a 2011 Reefer out of AR. I used a broker called Thomas Wilson Group. The mandatory coverage plus reefer breakdown and I have 150k cargo. Authority since May of 2016.

I'm thinking in maybe in 2020 I'll be ready to get my own authority. Right now it is soo much less being with my carrier. 175 month 20 bobtail and 12.30 week for trailer insurrance so that is about 250 a month in 2013 Freightliner Cascadia or so but then again i'm only making 75%. But I'm also getting good discount off of fuel. Anyhow I want to grow. I hear some say getting own authority isn't worth it. Then I hear otherwise. I won't really know until I do do it. What do you say? Own authority vs Mercer, Landstar, Tennessee Steel Haulers, and so on?
