I used to save 1200 a month, plus my tax returns. The rest of my income was for rent food phone and beer.
McCauley and Dave_in_AZ Thank this. -
$1000 a week goes in my savings & I spend the rest. House, rental properties, & cars are paid for but I have very little bills & no debt, wife or kids. I'm regional not OTR though.
Save by stop spending, increase your income, & have a small overhead. -
Get on a written budget. That budget rules your life! Not in a master/slave sense, but keeping you accountable to you.
Invest 15% of your income into retirement accounts. -
Still don't know what his income is.

I don't understand how truckers spend so much money on the road. If you spend more than $100 on the road just for basic living, that's too much. You don't need to eat out of boredom. You don't need to buy a bunch ridiculous stuff and junk for your truck. Basically, buy what you need.
tscottme Thanks this. -
Growing up in the 60's we drank water right from the garden hose, but we were all about living on the edge! But we also walked to school both ways up hill in 3 feet of snow, those Florida winters were hell.Thanos, Midnightrider909, xsetra and 2 others Thank this.

Just get a big water jug and walk in the Pilot and fill it with Sprite or 7up and tell the cashier it’s water.
Or if they have it, fill it with Zima and tell them it’s just water.
.
