You saved 15k the old fashioned way..I know its not a ton of money..But it gives you a level of satisfaction that you "earned' that with hard work... And you didn't cheat anybody to get it.tucker, rachi and flatbeb mac Thank this. -
Saved, to be honest, none really because everything I put away at the moment has something to be spent on. I figure after these four projects I have in mind are out of the way I will allocate some for retirement. I guess the lack of saving is because I figure I already have a nice nest egg and have been a penny pincher all of my life and I'm getting older and I feel like there are a few things I would like to have/do before I punch the ol'clock.

I won't give specific figures on here, but I'll give this much info:
7 years ago I had no money and considerable debt. I now have considerable money and no debt. Oh, and I also have 3 college degrees...my name is not on the diplomas, but I paid for them.HopeOverMope and rachi Thank this. -
I have saved nothing. I spent a lot on booze, gambling, toys and women. The rest I just wasted!
rachi and Steel Dragon Thank this. -

I have a $1000 float I try to ignore so I don't live pay check to pay check. I haven't saved much more then that but I have paid off nearly 20k in credit card debt (I now only have a 3k Line of credit and 19k in student loan.) So by the end of the year I should be debt free. Then I replace my POS car and start saving for the future.
Plans are get a retirement plan and look at buying a house with an apartment in the basement. Live in the apartment and rent the house so someone else pays for my house till I'm ready to live in it more then a few days a month.3031 Thanks this. -
Paid off nearly half of a 140K mortgage in 9 years

I paid off all my debt ($50k) in my first three years. Now my Roth IRA and savings account are both healthy. If my employer mistreated me I could walk away and not break a sweat. I'm saving up for my first rental property.
stayinback Thanks this.
