Maybe they're lke the company we won a bid over.
They over bid the job. Now they're willing to haul the same freight for us, at an even cheaper rate.
Which makes no #### sense at all. Why not make an appropriate bid to start with....instead of taking bread crumbs.
How much of a pay cut would you accept?

Sounds like bottom feeders. I wish I was with a company that wouldn't give a pay cut every 90 days. I am not able to even estimate my budget. I don't even know how much my cut is going to be in Aug. I am interested to find out. I am sure that I could find a company that will pay me more, but then I will probably loose my home time every weekend. I don't know what I am going to do. I guess that I will just have to suck it up and face the wind. I hate working for companies that are in debt.

If you were closer, I could recommend a place.
Other than that, how about First Fleet? They run out of Cleveland International Paper, as a dedicated account.
Don't know if they have any openings, but it's worth checking into. -
Dang man, I'm getting a bonus in August. Good luck finding a better job. They are out there.

Within 50 miles of Memphis could land you a local run at $13 an hour.
Within 100 miles east of the river might land you a regional run. Draw a line from Memphis to Union City, then back south. This would be an ideal location.
It will just depend on the number of drivers (if any) that ask for the local job when that account comes into play.
Not sure of the actual intended hire dates, soon I'm sure. But we're looking at 10 local drivers, and replacement regional drivers for those that transfer.
We do have regional openings available right now. But the exact number and locations, I'm not sure of. I know for sure, we have one here. They keep qualified applications for 90 days, then pull from that pool before they advertise.
There are dozens more trucking jobs available in the N MS area. Although the majority do not advertise nationally. Hiring area for these would be close to Tupelo or New Albany MS.
Do a simple Google search of Northeast Mississippi Daily journal. Then follow the links to their jobs section. They update every morning around 01:30. I keep it bookmarked, so I can advise friends that are looking locally.
Save yourself some time. There are no listings today.
You can track the advertised openings when they pop up. Many are mom/pop operations. Best days to search, Monday, Thursday, and Friday.
Caution: Do NOT respond to Hester or RedLine openings. They are one and the same, and not worth the pain. -
I run around 340 miles per day and average about 11-12 hours. If you take 11 hours at my pay, that comes out to $301.75. That is an average for a Mon-Fri work week and home every night with weekends off. I don't know what running the east coast has anything to do with it?

UPDATE:
i would say if i was running average 3000 miles a week irregular non-dedicated OTR then, minimum $1100. As long as everything was consistent---miles, scheduling(within reason) etc.
If i was local, based on 40 hours, then minimum $800. As long as the hours and scheduling was reasonably consistent. -
Here's what I take from your post.
Your family, and the time with your family is worth $300 a week to you.
I done the math for myself. And concluded that it would take at least $1700 a week for me to remain OTR.
I too would like to see $800 local. Putting that in it's proper prospective. My family would need that income at home PLUS what I needed to remain comfortable as an OTR driver.
Most companies park a driver 2 days a week now. I want a motel for those 2 days...and taxi money. And money to get out. Hence the $1700
Most likely, I would send more than a grand home. But I want that extra money....period.
I can live easily on 6-800 a week, if I'm home.
