Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

Thanks again for all of your comments and advice. I plan to call and speak with the company tomorrow and ask them some of the questions that have been raised in this thread. I feel that I'm a good judge of character and after speaking with the owner of the company (small family owned busisness), I am confident that he was speaking truthfully with me. With the promise of a nice weekly paycheck, I can't/shouldn't pass up this opportunity...right?
Thanks again,
DEEMO
SheepDog Thanks this. -
NOTARPS4ME: I just read that you have over 10,000 posts on this site since 2007...when do you have time to drive?
-
Notarps ain't the one lookin' for a job. LOL
You obviously don't have much experience trying to kill 10's and 34's on the road. There's only so much you can sleep, and no government regulation can change that and make you sleep when you're not sleepy. -
I did a little math on NOTARPS4ME posts and it turns out to be 215 posts per month or 7 posts every day for 4 years straight...not a big deal to me but, I just find it fascinating.
-
I've averaged about that for two months, but I'll admit I have too much time on my hands right now. It will soon come to an end. It would have taken years to gain the knowledge and information I have collected using a more conventional method though.
bullhaulerswife and SheepDog Thank this. -
Are you serious? You're telling us that you're actually fascinated by how many posts somebody has made on an internet message board? Seriously?
-
I guess "fascinated" is the wrong word to use. "Surprised/shocked/amazed" would have been better. I just don't know where one finds the time to post so many messages for such a long period of time (4 years).

I spoke with the company (remember it is a small family business where they grow their own hay and ship it on there own trucks) today and found out that they do not have a health insurance plan yet but, plan to have one in place within 60-90 days. Also, we discussed whether or not I would be an Independent Contractor or a Company Driver. I was given the option to be either and was even told that if I chose to be an independent contractor, I would have to pay more in taxes (which I learned from this thread) but, the choice is mine. I told them I'm fine with being a company driver but, will think it over. I am set to start this new job next weekend. I'm very excited about this new opportunity & I'm looking forward to making a pretty nice paycheck as well...
Thanks Again,
DEEMO
