Sorry, its who you choose to work for.
I drive my boss's truck. But while I'm driving it, its MY truck. To him, AND to me. He trusts me to take care of it, and the companys business my truck is doing and the only thing I'm told is what time I'm loading and where its going.
Everything else is up to me, and I do it to the best of my abilities.
I've never given him a reason to doubt that I wasnt doing my best for the company, and I don't have time for any monkey business to cause any suspicion. He wouldnt dream of tossing my truck, and if it wasnt merited, I'd walk if he did.
How much privacy should a company driver expect in the workplace?

I leave things around in the hopes that someone one day will look.
Went to military bases hauling fuel quite a bit and no one ever asked to look back there. When they're up on your step of course they're looking around. The Border Patrol checkpoint on US70 is probably the only place I've had someone ask about the bunk. He wanted me to wake up my friend I ran team with and I said no. I always kept his ID up front just for those situations and he didn't press the issue.
I've never personally known of a time a company searched someone. That doesn't mean it's never happened. -
