Hi, I need to get a 04 9400i midroof minus the fairing t/a if i took the stack off I could get the height down below 10ft. It is a 70" sleeper.

I would like to know what i should be paying to get this moved 953 miles from morone la to toledo ohio. I put it on uship and getting quotes of $3/mile. I think this is way to high seeing as that it could be half of a load for a stepdeck.

    any thoughts.

It's about right considering you are most likely being quoted on a double drop to move it. We run several and that is about the right price for our RGN's. Our steps woudl most likely be about $2 a mile. Considering we could find LTL freight to add to the deck and stay within weight limits.

I must be thinking about it wrong but i was thinking 1.50 mile was what O/Os are getting for runs these days.

so if i go with these $3/mile guys they are going to add more freight to there load and push even more money?

I guess i need to get a stepdeck and start getting rich. :biggrin_255:

Im looking at full stepdeck loads getting moved on Getloaded for 1.20 mile from south to north.

would like to pay a fair rate. just dont want to get bent over. Im a auto transporter and a full load consiting of multiple pick and drops I might get $2-$3/mile total.

I just dont see $3 for a stepdeck one drop one pick. which is what im being quoted.

The problem here is you are all to willing to haul cheap freight,...And now you expect others to do the same,....

OMG.... 1.20 - 1.50 talk about cheap freight I wouldn't even touch it. You might as well go get it yourself since you can move it so cheaply. If you wait long enough some owner operator that has crappy equipment might move it for you. If your lucky it might even show up in the same condition as it was loaded in.

Call CH Robinson and have them give you a quote to move it.

2.00 per mile for my steps.. sorry I dont haul 1.20 freight ! get loaded like most load boards are a freight clearing house... difference of night and day! 3.00 for a rgn is fair ! see what the difference in cost of equipment is! when I wanted to ship my sons car back to kansas from florida the quotes I was getting was .80 to 1.35 a mile for a mazda seriously...

LOL... Its real easy to say its cheap freight and OMG I wouldn't touch that (meanwhile you probably move this stuff all day long at 1.50).... but honestly I am just looking for an intelligent post explaining why someone needs $2800 to move half a stepdeck load 953 miles.

    Let's break it down.

Say you are 150 miles out so you have deadhead and trip for a total of 1100 miles.

1100 miles at lets says 1.00 mile cost for everything except your pay for 2 days. This includes all your business cost.

    1100x 1.50 = 1650

    1650-1100 cost = 550 for 2 days work.

Honestly if you are making 275/day after all your cost mind you then more power to you. But this is not cheap freight.

Not to mention that you know you're going to find another "cheap freight load" to move with it.

In the end I will just put it on Centraldispatch and get it moved or go get it myself.

I am open for any intelligent person to post. Please if you can't explain why it is cheap without insulting or just saying its cheap then YOU do not fit the intelligent part of this request and keep it to yourself.

    Thank you

Is it drivable? Maybe somebody like Bennett could drive it bob-tail to you?
