If you don't have a set rate spelled out in your rate confirmation or your Broker contract or contract with the Shipper. Doubt you will see anything. As mentioned above.

P.S. You can charge what ever you feel is fair. Its another battle to collect. The courts might say they owe you the money, but they don't help you collect. By the time you spend a few hundred dollars TRYING to collect. ITs way cheaper just to swallow hard take a deep breath and move on. Is this shipper you use a lot. They might see to pay you something to keep you friendly. If you are a casual transport..... Well Good luck.

WE got screwed by CH Robinson,
They loaded us with cargo, which turned to be contaminated with bugs (dates from Turkey), the receiver refused the load.
CHR detained the trailer and power unit (both ours) for 24hrs, then released the power unit, they detained the VAN for a further 11 days. They released the Van without decontamination... Which we had to recover from 1100km away..
They effectively put us out of business for 13days, and refuse to honour the verbal agreements, or there own contract...

RSQ20 If they took your trailer, without your consent, isn't that theft. I would have the police involved, file a traffic report. Grand theft auto. I'm not sure but I think you could get your insurance involved. Depends on what you have in your contract.
