The main reason for the supposed rise in used truck prices is because between 2008 and 2009 truck manufacturing was ground to a halt and a very limited number of trucks where actually built. This is expected to cause the shortage on the horizon. Always leave a deposit if your really interested in purchasing besides holding the truck it will send the message to the salesman you are serious, we know there all lazy! yet they will wine because they are not selling any trucks.(?)

I see. Now I understand. I know my next "new" truck won't be of those vintages, so we're OK.
    Thanks for the clarification!

Just my thoughts ( but what do I know ) , If I had say 25k to spend I would look at something a lot less than that much that was well taken care of and buy it. Then take some of the money left over and rebuild it and refurbish everything that needed it and now you have basically a "new truck" and still have a little money left and less worries of " what if ". Sounds like a pretty decent plan. I'd go for that!
