Well I got a message this afternoon asking drivers to not fuel until Friday if they could help it.
The price will (should?) drop sharply on Friday.
They said "today was the single largest drop in the diesel fuel market in history, and the impact of today's price drop will be reflected in our fuel prices at the truck stops on Friday".Accidental Trucker and TravR1 Thank this. -
But today I got two stops mixed up pumped wrong amounts on both.
And I will probably get a phone call to be counseled on proper fueling.
They always give me that TA in Wheat ridge CO, in Denver. Most of the pumps are usually broke. And my right side pump was broke and no DEF also. So I drove down the road to fuel again. Phone call.God prefers Diesels Thanks this. -

Hovering over the pump to shut it off at just the right time is a bore, and if I am authorized for a certain amount then the pump should shut off at that amount.
I understand the companies desire to save a few cents per gallon and make me take the time to make multiple fuel stops, but I am also on a schedule that is sometimes very tight on time.
And I consider my time just as valuable.
It seems always a fight over fuel stops, idle time and the like.
Another message came in about the cost of fuel and idling, saying to use the bunk heater unless it was 15 degrees or less.
But my bunk heater does not work.
I have been in 3 shops to fix it, and no fix.
So I idle if it is barely cold enough to idle the truck, just to stay warm enough.God prefers Diesels Thanks this. -
We don't have any restrictions on place or price. With a small fuel tank, around 72 useable gallons, we will fuel 2 or 3 times a day.
We fuel every 150 to 300 miles depending on conditions.
We get paid for the on duty time so it is tolerable.Rugerfan and Brettj3876 Thank this. -

The man bun skinny jean college crowd at corporate deduced how much extra product we could haul with the weight savings achieved from the smaller aluminum tank..lol
But they forget to factor in the cost of a fuel stop in wages, the higher priced truck stop fuel vs our bulk plant fuel, not to mention the 20 minute average of time lost.
Oh well.
