Lately I’ve been topping off every night before midnight. Tonight it’s going up 78 cents per gallon for me so I’ll feel like I won if I top off before midnight.

    faux_maestro and TravR1 Thank this.

Ideally before I run out. Last week, went to sleep, woke up and it had gone up .20 per gallon. That’s when you realize it’s bad. Not the first time, but the biggest increase.

    Exactly.

Or worse no fuel available to get trucked out. I've seen plenty of ppl sit while I go on my merry way during hurricane season.
Especially during Sandy up around the city.

The price of fuel has no impact on how many miles per gallon your truck will do, if anything it may make drivers more conscious of wasting precious amounts of fuel when idling or perhaps some companies may start to reduce their truck speeds after all a truck motor will use less fuel at much slower speeds, due to less drag, this is one of the reasons some of the larger companies like Swift have limited the speeds their trucks run at.

Usually after 800 miles or so, sooner if I find a decent price.
