It's called DVT and it is deadly. A driver should not drive more then 2 hours without stopping and at least walk around and check the tires.

What does the "D" in DVT mean?

Check out the comment now. I finally got my link in it. Oh and for the record my doc told me 10 years ago I could cut my risk of DVT in half by just taking a low dose aspirin a day.

I used to drive more than 11 hours when I had personal conveyance time... anyway, I rarely drive my full 11 now. I don’t need to. I do drive my ### off for the time that I’m working though. I have no problems getting 600 miles a day in 9.5-10 hours with breaks.

About half of my trips require 10.5 or more hours of driving in a day. The regs requires you take a 30 minute break during your first 8 hours of driving/work. What is really stressful is when a customer takes several hours to do their job or makes me takes several hours to do my work at their site and that leaves me with only enough time to drive straight through and no time for ANY stopping for ANY reason.

This job is NOT like that one long and easy car trip you took one time with no problems. You are hired to drive and many days it seems like everyone, including customers, are conspiring to keep you from doing that, even though they DEMAND you be on-time for them.

When i was driving over there after a few months of pretty much non stop 11 hour driving days i'd be so tired i would pull up at almost every rest stop to take a quick break get the blood circulating again and off i'd go again yes it does get very exhausting and the best cure is rest.

I wouldnt be able to drive 11 that would most likley violate logs. 10 hrs 40mins at most and going over 10 you better have parking figured out ahead of time. And its pointless honestly driving 10plus then you have to take reset. Just drive 8 to 9 hours a day and recap

    NavigatorWife Thanks this.
