How often do you do your pre trip inspections?

I know my comment will cause a lot of howls and screams about that 10-hour break. I support post-trip inspections because you can see problems with plenty of time to maybe resolve them. I have seen many flat tires doing a post-trip walk around. The worst time I know of to find a serious problem (esp with a hot load) is on the pre-trip and it causes a service failure. Don't laugh or scoff here. Happened to me once many years ago. It just takes that one time you fail to be proactive when it bites you. My dispatcher called me later that day and asked me how come I missed that situation. He did not get angry, he just was surprised at my sloppiness.

Good bet that’s a troll post.

As the LTL world goes I have it fairly easy with an assigned truck AND trailer, and even my equipment gets checked every day. Lights burn out without warning.

Every morning, and before I hop off duty for my ten hours. Better to catch any problems before rather than after.
