Any info on that ?blairandgretchen Thanks this. -
I used to run 3,000 miles a week. I would grease it every second week or 6,000 miles then do an oil change and grease again at 12,000 miles. It's been many years since I turned 3,000 miles a week on any consistent basis. I still stick to that schedule. Last year I changed the oil 4 times and greased to truck 8 times. Trailer gets greased at the same interval. It's probably too much and overkill for a highway unit but I'd rather overdo it than have something burn up from pure laziness. Now for an offroad truck once a week is probably about right to grease everything if it gets driven a lot.

Whole truck around every 2000 miles. I use Schaefer grease for colder temps that I order online. Your on a good routine.

Although if I were you I would be greasing the driveline once a week if anything and the front end maybe every other

Weekly, it is part of my Saturday ritual. I hit every fitting with grease while inspecting for any signs of wear or failure. Oil and filters every 15,000 miles, trans and differential fluids changed every 75,000 and since I have a wet line it gets filters every April and November. Also in April the wet line is drained and it gets new hydraulic oil, my pump runs about 20 hours a week so it wears out the fluid quickly, and in the northeast the hydraulic fluid collects a lot of moisture.
What I am doing must work, the tractor is a 2000 Volvo VNM42 D-12 345 hp, 10 speed Eaton Fuller manual with 1.7 million on it, never had the motor open, only have done 1 clutch, 1 set of injectors, 1 turbo, 2 steering boxes, 1 alternator, 1 starter, and a water pump. It is getting ready for another clutch and a trans rebuild, may even sandblast and paint the frame this time and paint the cab, not sure yet.bbt_387 Thanks this. -
What areas/parts do you guys routinely grease?
