However, why not take care of the only bod-bod ya got? Along with the yuk-yuk'n, Ghostchild's and Chompi's posts here are something we should think about... Glad to know that I'm not the only one wondering about trying to not become a lard-#####, tied to a CPAP device and blood pressure meds gasping as I sweep out the trailer!(Never mind treating yourself like garbage, physically, [and stinking] with smoking)
No offense to anyone, just say'n that falling into that trap is not what I'm hoping for myself and will do my best to keep moving, that's all. It may not be easy when I'm dog tired and wired after a grueling 14 complete with 'surprises', hell I don't know anything about that yet. But, I do hope that I can take the advice given and use it so as to not end up being as tall lying down as i am standing up in years to come!
How often do you stop to take an exercise break?

Guys/girls, the most hardest part of the exercise is doing it for the first few times. After that your body has built up endurance and will be more apt to just "want" to do it. Another thing exercising really, really helps is stress. It is the weirdest thing but you will feel much more relaxed and at ease behind the wheel when you exercise. I think one reason is when you get mad and stressed out I think that is the bodies way of getting it some "action" due to the long periods of sitting and motionless. Here is one of the best incentives for loosing weight and exercising; it WILL make you pee-pee bigger! This is all due to blood flow and fat loss below the waist. Your "dinger" actually has an anchor that holds it on and it works like a boat in the water. When the water rises (fat) and there is no slack on the anchor the boat (your ding-dong) will get pulled down into the water (fat). So at least for the guys you have a good incentive now!

i think this would depend on the individual, if in fact, the phenomenon really does occur.
i have reached a different conclusion.
Will comment on how often and how i take breaks later.

Even doing stuff like sit-ups...helps firm stomache muscles which in turn help support your spine when sitting for long periods...
Muscles help support the spine...and the blob within...keeps things aligned...
I notice when I excercise and build muscle, everything feels better...but without muscle...things begin to sag...and put pressure on joints....
Firm muscle tone keeps everything tight and in place..including your spine... -
everything in moderation people...if you sit there and park as close to the door to be first for the buffet line then you will end up overweight. I tried to always park farther away from the building so I had to walk farther. Eat properly balance your meal, take fresh fruit with you, lay off the soda and candy. Little things like that add up, and yes doing some situpa or pushups is not a bad thing....you will get talked about if you are seen excercising but really who cares...you are in control of your body do what you want with it. I've seen guys with #### near a home gym in their trucks...weights the bars etc... I personally felt they went to far but that's me. I used to sweep out my trailer...not go and PAY to have someone wash it out. SOmetimes yeah it had to get washed but if I stayed on it I didnt have to wash it very often. That is good excercise too. Just keep in mind that moderation is the key.

RocknrollNik,
good point! Really any little thing counts! Sweeping or cleaning out a trailer will #### sure get the blood flowin! Buffing wheels, waxing your truck anything like that will do. The sit-ups thing and also trunk bends are good because the muscles in your back really weaken from long periods of sitting which is why a lot of truckers have back problems. When the muscles weaken any little movement or strain will cause them to spaz and lock so that the bones and discs in your spine will not slip out. This is where the back pain comes from. A good exercise like the trunk bends will help tremendously. Stand with your feet together without locking your knees, put your arms like arrows straight down your sides and go side to side sliding your arms down your legs as far as possible alternating sides each complete movement. Then do the same thing, arms at your side and go front and backwards. Not too far back, you don't want to strain or pinch. You can also do complete circles by rolling your waist like you are hoola hooping. Another really simple one that is excellent is jump rope. I think you all know how that works! Sorry to ramble on, I have always been into healthy style living. This simple stuff can save your lives.:smt069

Funny. The main reason most people say they aren't interested in flatbedding is the physical side of it.
I always thought of it as getting paid to do something that would cost me if I drove a van. Besides the time lost to exercise outside of the job, the base pay was better. Tarping usually pays around $40 per load, and the cpm rate for flats is usually a couple cents higher.rocknroll nik Thanks this. -
Kinda like rocknroll nik said above if you clean out your empty trailer you can work out in there as well, but without the audience.
53' wind sprints lol
