I ask this because I have pills I need to take daily and monthly I need to renew so I can have my pills. It is very important for me.
How does one juggle this when you are driving OTR cross country? because that is where i want to start out. I am going to apply to trucking school tomorrow. Are you OTR 5-6 weeks and then you get one week off?

It depends on the company. I would say from two to six weeks. Many want 3 - 4 weeks out. You know that you can get prescriptions by mail order these days in three month supplies, right?

It's easiest to use the Walmart Pharmacy because of the large parking lots to get your trucks in and close to the interstate. Refills are no problem. I use to stay out 6 weeks and take 4 days off. Talk with your doctor about getting 90 day prescriptions to make it even easier.

Depends what company you work for. Many Chicago based trucking companies will send you to Arizona, California for produce which will be brought back to Chicago. I was out for 5-7 Days, 2-3 Days home. If you choose the mega carriers you might be out for months. It all depends what kind of company you will work for, some have dedicated runs, others will send you anywhere and keep you out for long time. Walmart is still your best bet for medication.

What is nice is when you haul to one of these grocery companies that have a pharmacy right there!

I would have to say that a week is pushing it. Maybe a few companies would do it but you have to realize that their truck is sitting in your driveway not making money while you are at home. Usually most companies want you out 4-6 weeks and then you get 3-4 days off. Like the other guys said though it is fairly easy to get a script filled over the road. Plenty of walgreens, CVS and walmarts. Now doctors appointments are tough to make though.

Very true. However from their perspective the possibility of getting a driver that will run miles is more appealing than having a driver that won't.
