How old do I have to be to get a CDL permit in Georgia?

    BTW I recommend the community college route. You will get the best training that way. Are you south of ATL? I can give you some schools south of ATL that do it. One in Griffin. One in Macon.

    thanks for all the help guys. i appreciate it. one last question though, if i decide not to drive until im 21, I'm DYING to have something to do with trucks, what should i do between my 18th and 21st birthday?

    Go see if you can get on with a local P&D company loading trucks doing dock work. It will set you up in the company for a driver position once you are 21 and you may be able to drive the yard jockey around if you show them you have skills backing trailers up to the docks.

    again im with L.B. and also study study study the cdl book and if u can and have the means try getting ur cdl A early 18-19-20 that way u get it over with and u can atleast say uve had since whenever but just remember if u get a ticket while having a cdl u cant take the points off with going to traffic school like u can with other licences
