I used to sell wireless... so you don't get around much, eh? Westminster, CO... major deadspot, because the city won't let AT&T erect a cell tower.
I guarantee that you won't get a signal between Ontario, OR and anywhere in northern NV... more jackrabbits than people out there - honestly, if there are a dozen people living in that stretch, I'd be surprised.
Their coverage is good east of the Mississippi, but spotty to the west. Just the way Cingular grew up.
How or who do you use for internet?

I've had very few problems with AT&T customer service. Most of the time they're understanding and fix the problem right away. That's why I stick with AT&T. I would much rather talk to them than someone supposedly named "Mike" who talks with a very thick Indian accent (And I don't mean the "cowboy and indian" type indian either!) So, if I've ever complained at you in your old line of work, Thank you for being a decent human being and doing a thankless life draining job.

I have excellent signal running the Ontario to NV route. Unless I drop below Wells, NV on US 93. Then it dies.
EAST ?? Try SE GA for dead spots on AT&T.
AT&T customer service has always resolved our issues quickly. They even gave us a huge discount (mid contract), because our jobs (myself and my sister) require a Cell. They called us, we didn't call them on that item.
I pay $45 a month now

Yea it was mostly college kids that worked at the one I worked at. I was one of those college kids too. It is a crap job they pay crappy and you have so many policies you would lose your mind. But it paid the bills for the time being.

I have the Verizon USB modem. I get 5GB a month for $60....and my cell is thru them....and i spend $120 a month for both. Dont ever run into any issues with connection. I would rather use my card rather than a 'hot spot' because drivers who have alot of time on their hands, can hack into your computer if you use the local truck stop wireless. i'd rather be secure.
oh...and the guy from Verizon told me that for the 5GB of use i get a month, i'd hardly ever come close to using it all up. but i know i'd need more than the 1GB for $30. .... or whatever it was.
I always have internet running when i'm driving so i can get up to date weather....not to mention my GPS =)Ms No Name 72 Thanks this. -
I use a sprint aircard since I have a cell phone through them . they only charge me 80 bucks a month for both. I've been with them for about 5years and have never had any major issues.
-
Sounds like for most of you, the aircard (or tether arrangement) is the top choice
-
If your on the road it's pretty much the only choice I guess. Is there a different method you use? Cheaper the better you know what I mean.
-
On the road I use a Sprint data card at home well where ever I can get a good connection....I seem to be in an area of few towers and lots Amish.

I'm with Alltel and tether. Works good enough for what I need it for and charges the phone at the same time. Easy to do also. I pay 102 bucks a mo. for unlimited data, 500 anytime, 10 person circle, free nights and weekends, and all that good stuff. Also if I'm in EVDO coverage which I guess is 3g or like it I can stream video pretty good. If you happen to go that route don't tell them your going to tether or they'll charge you extra and sell you a 70 dollar connection kit that you don't need which is a disc with a com manager I believe and a usb cable. All you need is a usb cable.
