How people get past physicals..?

All the posts on here dealing with the BMI and the driver. I know you are right on the military.

 

Oh, okay. I was just confused by the fact you commented, using my post. I looked at this issue before my wife started trucking because I heard the rumors about BMI I have heard in the past of some companies doing like USXpress but I didn't see it or hear about it when I went there or my wife. So, just rumors and, there is talk about BMI testing in the future with regards to regulation but, haven't seen it yet.

 

I was looking for information and had linked to go back to the post and hit the wrong one because you posted in the meantime.

I see many posts about sleep apnea and big necks and such. I have not seen it either and cannot see it on the form. My physical will only be that information required for the form. I bring a form with me to support it.

 

Yeah, the sleep apnea was a big rumor going around, or at least it is to me,,never saw it and it was based on BMI so, I think again, it was rumor.

 

I noticed that the original poster is but a wee lad of 24 years. It appears that someone has failed to raise this long man right.

The truly enlightened companies know that like wine, truckers get better with age. Yes, I am out of shape, but I still can climb in and out of a truck. It just takes longer. It also takes longer to pee. Still, I have a few years left in this old body. And then I get to retire to a nursing home. ####, I am looking forward to that. See, I was a bottle baby and I so wish to nurse.

 

BMI and sleep apnea thing isn't a rumor. Most companies are checking your weight with the height and weight chart and if your BMI is high according to the chart you get a 90 day physical card until you get tested for sleep apnea. Happened to me last year, I am 6 foot 2 inches and weigh 280lbs, not fat just big being I go to the gym 5 days a week.

 

When I get my General Practitioner physical each year she told me that they are required to give truckers a sleep apnea test.

Take a very good look at the medical form. It is not on it or in the instructions.

 

Are you referring to the DOT form?
