Just wondering how quickly after a speeding ticket is assessed to a driver is the violation "uncovered" or found about by the fleet manager.
I know that managers are required to order a new MVR each year on a driver. Is this the first time following a speeding ticket that a fleet manager would find out about the ticket?
How quickly are speeding violations reported to a fleet manager?

No. He will find out because YOU will tell him, right after you get it. Then you will grovel, beg, whimper, snivel, moan and plead for mercy!

Or, you could keep your mouth shut about it and hope they don't find out. Which they probably will.
Just my never humble opinion of course, but I would rather they found out about it from me, than from an outside source.johnday, rocknroll nik and Flying Finn Thank this. -
Haha, of course in an ideal world everyone comes clean like that if they are smart. I'm just talking in hypotheticals.

figure at least a month....they'll have to get the notice in the mail because there truck was speeding....probably a week or two...then it goes to safety, then it'll go to your FM....then you'll spend a crapload of time trying to explain WHY you didn't tell them...because most companies tell you in orientation to tell them immediately about those things because they hate to be the last to know

FMCSA says you're supposed to report it.... so I guessin it matters!

Tell them sooner than later--I always tell my wife right when it happens(of course she does our books) then blame her for not giving me enough time to get to my destination on time! Then tell her the fine is coming out of HER check not the business of personal accounts.
Then if she hasn't already hangs up she usually says "Did you say something?"
LMAOGuysLady Thanks this. -
You can tell that was penned well before the words "commercial drivers license" or reciprocity came out.
So, for those not currently driving commercially (like me) if I get an out of state ticket in my car in Buttcrack, Idaho, and pay the fine I'm going to walk into my local DMV 12 states away and say," Gee, I just really wanted to be sure this went on my driving record..."
Absurd. Kiss my *ss. My number is in a national database, and my tax dollars pay for your computers. You figure it out.
The CDL was designed to keep commercial drivers from holding multiple licenses in different states.
Ah, the good old days.
"Let me see your driver's license...."
"Which one?"

There's a safety man that gets very ill if you don't report your tickets right away. On the states side, it takes 30-45 days to hit your MVR. So if you are going to change jobs, do it quick, lol, jk. But once a year you have to fill out a violation form. It is considered a gov't document too.

5 mins after I sign it if I should get one.
