A better question would be this:

Are you drivers so weak and meek to take orders knowing you will get abused?

Stand up for yourself eh? Darn Children. Ruined I say, ruined.

When I was at Schneider they learned pretty quick that

    a) don't mess around with my home time
    b) run me when I'm not on home time
    c) I was willing to spend 2-3 days running their worthless northeast bullcrap and if I wasn't sent out of there after that I would start refusing loads

No one can distract you but you. Turn off the phone, turn down the volume on the QC and drive the truck.

Don't want a load at the end of the day? Push out your availability. As long as you're meeting the customers expectations you can take as long as you want on a load. I don't "have" to deliver my load until midnight tomorrow. I'm 200 miles out, have 15 hours on the 70, could easily make delivery by 11:00. I could sleep in, deliver at 1500 then go to the truck stop and be done for the day. Provided I set my eta and availability as such before being assigned abother load.

You want to rag on Schneider for poor training, crappy pay, ####ed up maintenance schedules, micromanaging, driving rates down, slow trucks, and hiring anyone with a pulse and two brains cells to rub together - okay, valid criticisms. To say Schneider forces drivers to stay by "giving them violations and bad references" is BS.

    This is how it's done.

However if you are under appointments to within 15 minutes required to be somewhere it's not possible to personally arrange your own time. Do you understand?

I read and support this post. It's outstanding and completely destroys the so called enslavement argument.

They said I'd get a million bucks a year and they'd fly me in a helicopter from home to truck and back every day. This didn't happen. OP is correct. Schneider is a scam

You lost me with this one. I paid no mind to the whole "they'll make you get violations" thing in the first post since that's a pretty common thing to read on here from drivers who can't accept responsibility for their own actions. But this? I can't understand how a dbl can distract you unless you are one of those drivers who has his qualcomm cranked all the way up so I can hear about your new pre-assignment from 4 trucks down at the truck stop.

Do you also blame that cute blonde who's passing you in the hammer lane for your truck drifting towards the zipper? Read GentleRoger's post. Then read it again.

Looks like the op allowed his dispatch to push him into doing something that got him fired, or he abandoned a truck under a load and is now not able to find a job
