    Yes, there are scam trucking companies out there. Yes, there are bad abusive companies out there. But, from my experience (limited) most of the problems encountered with trucking companies are found by looking in the mirror.

    Communicate, communicate, communicate. Be professional. Have realistic expectations and remember...once that door closes, YOU are in charge of how you run that truck.

    My guess is the DBL is "cracking the whip" over inaccurate etas/availability, missing paperwork, critical events by sending messages to the truck.

    Right. They do. And that's exactly what happens. I'm not sure where the confusion is. Someone applies for a job where it says they'll be out for 2-3 weeks and get 2-4 days off and then it happens... surprise? Where's the complaint? Is it the $700-$900? Well.. that was pretty much upfront too. So, yet again, I don't get it.

    I wouldn't do otr for $7-900/week. It's not worth it for less than a bare minimum $1000/week.
