You are making some leaps now. If I see someone moving things out of my neighbor's house, I might stop by to chat. Might be a good reason for it. If not, then I can call the authorities. Also, it directly affects me if it's in my neighborhood and I'm involved in what's going on.

I'm just saying, that in this case we don't know the whole story. I don't drive that kind of truck and don't understand all the reasons why they might be doing what they are doing.

However, if I was in that business and it concerned me, I would probably start with the local co-ops and see what they have to say. Also, if I was in that business I would know more about what they are doing and would have more reason to get involved. As it is now, I don't.

At least tucker doesn't give you five minutes of nothing to get past to get to ten seconds of someone passing him legally. Plus, he gives us something to listen to besides dead silence.

that trick is saved for extremly asine customers, or those extremly discounted national accounts with a 1,000 linehaul to go across the country, subtract the cost of fuel, labour, truck expensense....

I'll never understand the mentality that allows someone to stand by and watch a thief. Fear I guess. What goes around comes around.

Cool little video. I've never scaled a tridem, but isn't there usually a separate plate at the back of the scale that would trigger another axle weight to appear on the ticket?

The HHG guys I worked with were thieves. They would weigh and charge whatever was higher, weight or cubes.

I delivered to one girl who had less than 100 cubes. She had a small balance, or so she thought. The originating carrier weighed, and saw the tariff by weight was $1,600 more than by cubes, so he changed it on her. Just as illegal as putting you front axle on the scale to bump up your gross.

Was it in the agreement that it would be the higher of quantity or weight? I've seen this before and it is completely above board if that is what the terms are.

Obviously I'm not familiar with your specific example.
