Hey guys new here and this will bE my first rig. It's an 86 peterbilt 359 it has 400 Cummins 13 speed. It only has one breather on passenger side was wanting to add one on the drives side would it be simple enough to add the breather hose collar then cut out the hood. what would be the best way to do this. Any help would be appreciated really don't want to buy a dual cleaner hood to do it.
How to add second air breather to 359

Cutting out the hood panel will look trashy. Buy a left side panel and have it put on if you don't have the tools to do it yourself.
-
ok thanks for info. What do you think I could find a panel for.
-
They are about 1500 from Pete new in the box. Labor putting it on should be about 500 or so

That might be more than I wanna spend for a farm truck.

Get a hold of Vander Haags, or a close LKQ heavy truck parts place, bet you can get good, proper used pieces at a cost you can afford. Hope this helps, take care.

Lol. You got that right a cheap budget. As people say I got champagne taste on a beer budget. oh I found some behind the hood panels for the breathers from Raneys truck parts they are chrome bolt ons it I believe it's for two for like 120$ that's kinda cheap for the intake panels if they ain't flimsy junk.

Why? Leave it looking original, more people will appreciate that then the dual breather look.
wore out Thanks this.
