I have a company owning three semis and one straight truck. It is for now a PRIVATE CARRIER as I use trucks to carry my service equipment (forklifts) and do scrap metal.

I have decided to file for a IFTA registration. Illinois requires it to do through MyTax Illinois, where I do have an account, but I cannot find a way to apply for IFTA on MyTax. Has anyone done it? How to get to IFTA application in MyTax? Thanks

    Thanks

I have IFTA account already listed on MyTax Illinois among various other accounts. It was set up by a 3rd party who did all the paperwork required for getting my authority.
Since you have MyTax account already, perhaps this link will lead you there...

MFUT-12 - Motor Fuel Use Tax, IFTA License and Decals Application - Excise Tax Forms

    It says there
"New IFTA Carriers that do not have an Illinois IFTA license yet can apply online with MyTax Illinois without having to login.

But it is better to call them - Secretary of State - IFTA division - and not to rely what Fred Flintstone and others tell you here for an official stuff like that.
    OK
