Actually the original question wasn’t really all that ridiculous. Some people are scared to back up a car. Just watch how they won’t back in to a space to make an easier exit and they will fight the wheel and the car to get out. They cannot grasp the concept of using just mirrors. The distance and the change of direction is a mind blower to them.
With our straights We had a co worker that couldn't grasp it. We have to do stupid maneuvers in tight busy parking lots all day long. Wind around park cars like white water rafting in some cases.MACK E-6, Moosetek13 and Bean Jr. Thank this. -
The real mind blower is that people that can barely drive cars think they can drive a truck.Rideandrepair, Numb, Bean Jr. and 4 others Thank this. -
It scares me that some of the people I work with can barely pull into a parking space, much less back into one. One girl gets to work 30 min early just so she can park and not worry about hitting another vehicle. She got upset when I suggested that she just get a bicycle. Found out she never learned to ride one.

It is rather funny.
I just bought a car, after being without one for over a decade.
Got into trucking and didn't need one until my apartment complex banned bobtails from parking there.
After so long driving just semi's I find it harder to park a little car.
The perspective and distances always seem wrong, and it takes some getting used to.Rideandrepair, D.Tibbitt, Bean Jr. and 3 others Thank this. -
Many years ago I thought it would be a good idea to develop a truckers only sub-division with a shared central garage. All properties would be large enough to park a rig and HOA fees would cover property taxes and insurance for the garage. Residents could reserve shop time. I never thought through it enough to determine the need for on site mechanical help.
The one downside that I did think of, there are some drivers that are complete pigs. I would hate to see how they take care of their house and property. Not sure I would like living near them! -
