I have just recently ran a load from a shipper, and the rate was 4 bucks a mile .The same load with the broker was 1.50 per mile .I don't think the rate has dropped .The broker is just playing chess ,and screwing carriers, and O/O's . I will continue to back door until they pay more fairly. ..

If the broker is going to rob me,I will back door them. They work hard building a stong customer base, and we work hard to be vendors.Don't be greedy!

It makes me angry to know that I have been running this cheap freight ,and the only thing that has decreased is the fuel, not the rate.Brokers are controlling the rates, they are billing the shippers 3.75-4.00 plus.I'm just going to put it out there. If you will like to find a shipper to haul for, simply look at your previous POD's ,and start calling shippers.

Here's an idea. Go bid the freight at 3.00 and find some dumb truckers to haul it for 1.50.

    But the OP is correct......

Word on the street is Brokers All Over are making everyone THINK that rates have plummeted (And some have) Just to make the average linehaul of $1.50 per mile look reasonable at this time.

Don't be fooled folks..If you guys feel that your being lied to.. Get your sales slacks on like I do.

If anything, it sounds more like the brokers have been "back dooring" the drivers...

How about you O/O's start running freight with transparent freight prices. Why isn't there a broker service that shows you true freight pay?

One of you pros should quit trucking and start brokering and be 100% transparent with the BOLs and take higher % per load for being a true service for the drivers.
