The passenger side fuel tank on my k104 slipped forward and 2 of the bolts on the battery box rubbed thru causing holes. We tried filling them with need it which worked for a bit but now I gotta block the tank off to get home. Just wondering what would be the easiest way to do that on the side of the road? I have heard u can use a coin?

got to plug the return line,,can disconnect the return line at the tank and put something to block the flow,,I cut a coke can once and made a restriction to block the fuel from retuning to the tank..after I drew down the bad tank I then blocked the suction line,,i was lucky I had a valve on the suction line,
I was between san Antonio and fort Stockton when a 4 wheeler pulling a trailer full of old toilets passed me and o toilet fell of right in front of me,,could not avoid it and the debris punched a whole in my right tank,,sucked I had an oversize load on an need to meet a ship in long beach,,lost 100 gal of fuel and 2 hours,,made my delivery and found a local shop in ling beach patched my tank for $150, I seen an other driver with a damaged tank that plugged the hole temp with a wood plug,, -
One thing about trucking all these years, you sure hear some crazy stuff. I had a friend once hit a freakin' battery in the road, took out his crossover line, I think that's why they did away with those crossover lines under the truck.

"semi" retired Thanks this. -
Try a bar of soap on the leak.. Seriously.
I've seen it work for several hours on some small and large holes.
And maybe fold return line and clamp with vice grips. -
Cut a green branch and drive into the hole for a plug. For the return line, disconnect it and insert a bolt, or more wood from branch/twig, then put a hose clamp on it.

We hauled toilets out of Texas. I'm sure they were full too. 2 best ideas are small Vice Grips and soap. Hate to hear ya got trouble.
