See goodys explination, after that i have a C bracket thing i picked up from a scrap load i glued to an old hammer handle that fits the connecter perfectly. Spray down with plastic and electronic safe lubricant of your choice (i use wd-40 contact cleaner) after washing and letting dry. Place c channel onto the lock and slowly apply pressure making sure its even across the whole thing. Id take a picture but its sitting back home in my tool box.
On MY truck at least ive never broken one that way. YMMV though.

Normally I gently pry or pull the plug outwards as I move the lever, helps keep it from binding up.5UG Thanks this. -
Yes- I'll be taking Goody's advice on this, as well as yours! Love the innovation with the C bracket and hammer handle!! That's awesome. . .
I understand my MMV. NO worries about that. I appreciate the feedback! -
Thanks for getting back to me about this; I see now, there indeed, wasn't enough detail/context within my first post. Thanks for picking it up so I could elaborate and get feedback. I appreciate it!

**I've just realized you guys may not be seeing my responses. I thought I hit "reply" here earlier. I've cut and pasted my original reply to you here, it went up the first time a little while ago without any indication I was responding to you. Hopefully I've corrected that. I'll be more careful about it on the forum moving forward.
In any case, didn't want you to think you were getting crickets on your reply.
Thanks again for all the great feedback; I do appreciate it!!
Regards!
