It doesn’t matter. If you sell yourself properly & and your number is reasonable to the customer, you get the job. If you don’t sell yourself properly, or your number is out of his ballpark you don’t.
You are stressing over the wrong things.
Never stress over is my bid to high, should i work cheaper. That means you’re working for customers who don’t respect you or your time.
If they think your bid is to high then Duck them!! You don’t need their business. There is plenty of other freight out there to be moved.
Park the truck and let the driver find other employment before you loose everything you have over keeping a guy working, or a truck rolling.
I get phone calls a lot from people in the area looking for me to give a price. Sometimes it works out, a lot of times it does not. Let them find a cheaper guy, next time they’ll pay my rate when they need their product on time, undamaged, and hassle free.
