Um, welcome to the current climate in American business. For a least a couple decades nothing matters but the bottom line. If having you sit on an anal plug that measured stress levels meant a substantial reduction in insurance premiums, you'd be asked to report the company nurse for proper fitment.

The company Im with has the cameras. They haven't put one in my truck yet, but its coming im sure. As soon as I hit sleeper berth I will be putting a sock or something over it until I hit on duty on the quallcom. If they say I cant do that I will put in my 2 weeks notice. For the audio part I will burn a cd of an air raid siren that lasts about 15 minutes and turn the volume up wide open. Maybe they will turn me off after 5 minutes lolKen Worth Thanks this.

Did the driver-facing camera show the car completely in the driver's lane?
-
Showed the car on his left, cut right in front of the driver.

dealing with it is easy. There's no rule that you can't drive in drag. Make it more awkward for whoever has to watch that video.
Lepton1 and dogtrucker Thank this. -
Trust issues are exactly why that camera is there. The camera is not recording until it is set off by a critical event. I have one in my truck and it doesn't bother me in the least. I'm a safe driver...I can see if you regularly are doing things you wouldn't want to "accidentally" get caught doing how you might not enjoy having a camera in your cab.

I don't know why you "conspiracy theory" types spread crap like this when you have no idea what you're talking about. There IS NO "just checking up on you" button controlled by your company. The camera ONLY RECORDS during a critical event and even then, the video file is not going to your company immediately. The information is sent to a monitoring company, generally the camera company that owns the cameras. It is then forwarded to your safety department for review. Let's get a grip people, sometimes things ARE what they seem and not everybody is out to get you.

I'd be more worried about the camera that does face me every day on my computer or laptop than I am about the one facing me in my truck.
