Put a gorilla mask on or a Obama mask while you drive. And tell them to f### off. Find another company to drive for.

Ya know, I have a good question......
Does anyone know first hand just a 'few' of these carriers that actually use these cameras? -

Seriously though there are issues with monitoring a driver who travels into different states and those states may have a law against that type of monitoring.
Not only that, there is a reasonable expectation of privacy which the driver should have, not just expect so recording continuously can be construed as an invasion of that privacy even if there is an event dump of the recording. which brings up the question why would the driver be monitored in such a way where both audio and video are needed to allow a proper investigation which brings back the expectation of privacy? There is no accident investigation reasoning that is justified at this point, no study has been done to provide proof of the need for it nor are there any planned. On top of all of that, the expectation extends to the long hours we work, and it forces us to sit and talk to or do things in the normal day during our working hours that have to have privacy ... I don't want my private conversations recorded to my wife or lawyer (of which the lawyer is the most dangerous of the two) nor do I want to be video recorder unless there is a justified reason why of which there isn't.
SO I would put tape over the camera, tell the company to stick it and won't sign anything to agree to it. -
I'm sure there are laws on the books which protect you from invasion of privacy. Seeing as how your truck is essentially a domicile, I do believe a right to privacy would protect a driver from this. Company property or not, that truck is your home while on the road. The same way your house isn't yours until it's paid off and when you're renting, the property isn't yours, cameras cannot be legally installed to ensure you aren't destroying the property. Could be wrong though.

Too Many companies are hiring to put up with that BS. I say put a camera on the fat assed dispatcher and his screen 24/7 to make sure he is doing what he is supposed to be doing.

WOW!!!!! what a scum bag company you own or work for. 20 drivers a week, so every 20 weeks you have a 100% turn over rate. another company that needs to be out of business.
